You may be able to host your small community site on the host you use 
for your book website using webforwarding. This directs traffic from 
your communty site's url to a folder on your book site and the 
community site looks entirely indepenedent. That is, from 
www.yourcummunitysite.org to www.yourbooksite.com/community. It's 
often free.
