Sheri,
John Jeavons, of _How To Grow More Vegetables_, is famous for his detailed
charts on area, yield, and seed needed.
He is associated with the folks at Ecology Action/Bountiful Gardens, and
years ago some of this material was available on-line in their catalog, in
the descriptive material for each vegetable crop. You can find them at
http://www.bountifulgardens.org
Or in Jeavons' book, the chapter on making the garden plan--for example,
where he lists out the crops and seeds for a one-person mini garden of 100
square feet.
Hope this helps. -Ted
