I got slides developed to disk and slides a few years ago, to bridge that not-quite-digital gap.  It seems though that most government sponsored establishments - ie school, extension buildings, and some libraries in urban areas are set up for digital, as are most conference hotels.  It is far simpler to transport a disk than a carousel of slides (+/- projector).
 
But I have a question about the projectors.  Are they as variable in performance as the cameras? Are there certain specs that should be looked for?.  They are slowly coming down in price, and some are being sold to the home market to project your holiday snaps onto the tv screen.  Are these the same as the presentation ones?
