Re: literary agents
Seems like a lot of folks have books in the works. And I know that many of
you are published ( and are publishers.) And almost all of you seem to be
columnists of one ilk or another.
I've got about 500 of the things (columns) laying about and, being a writer
just like you with wonderful opinions of ourselves, I can't imagine not
being able to turn them into more money.
How many of you have published collections of your columns?
Has it been relatively successful either on its own, or in terms of other
business generated by it?
How difficult was it to get published?
I'm wondering how much of a "name" you have to be, i.e. nationally known, a
regional celebrity?- which is okay if your region is New York City and not
Muskeg Meadows, Ontario.
Let's assume that I writes good, is it a worthwhile venture to pursue this
course?
Thanks,in advance, for your advice.
a ps to Margot Rochester- I still have all of your e-mails- I haven't
forgotten what you said.
