Re: non-blooming clivia
Clivias are among the most reliable, longlived houseplants we sold when I
worked at White Flower Farm. The plants do need a dormant period in late
fall/winter when you withhold water for 12-14 weeks. (Water a little if the
plant seems to start wilting.) Resume watering, and the plants will flower
in 6-12 weeks. Whenever customers called to complain that the plants didn't
bloom, we always found they'd been watering (and often fertilizing) in the
winter. So it's necessary to increase the benign neglect to force bloom.
