Re: helping landscapers become plant people
I really think things are looking up in this area. The local chapter of the
New York Nursery and Landscape Association, which I belong to for my magazine, just sent out the brochure for their annual trade show and education conference.
There are seminars on green roofs, vermicomposting, the architecture of sustainability, using native plants (2 on this topic), water use in green landscapes, and community gardens. I am actually attending many of these and looking forward to it.
This used to be all about tractors, pretty much. Though I think it's still sponsored by John Deere.
