Hi,
If you change the way you think about it--from being "rather tacky" to
giving them an opportunity to get their message out to a very concentrated
audience of gardening consumers, you'll be able to approach them with ease.
They probably adverstise somewhere and what you are doing is providing an
excellent place to put their advertising dollars.
I used to have a really hard time doing promotion--until I started having to
spend my own advertising dollars in order to promote a business. Now that I
can see it from the perspective of somone buying ads, I no longer feel
self-conscious about asking for ads. It's just business--people say "yes" or
"no" and there are no hurt feelings either way.
