Seems to me that the station is asking you to look for sponsors  
because the listening numbers are dropping so their sales people  
would have to work harder to sell the show. Have you looked at why  
numbers are falling? especially in a time when list members are  
reporting increased interest in some types of gardening -  
particularly veg. Are you addressing the right issues?

Whenever I'm doing anything that needs sponsorship I go to the people  
I deal with. They know me and know I'm doing something worthwhile  
that could benefit their business. Most nurseries within a 20 mile  
radius will buy advertising if I suggest it, so long as I don't ask  
too often, because they know I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't think  
they would benefit. I would only sell advertising to someone who I  
would see as trustworthy so I'm happy to mention them whether in  
print or on radio or TV.
