Rich spouses? I think most spouses have moderate incomes. Corona has some extendable-handle tools for about $15 that are great (I also found some in Big Lots for $5). Tracy diSabato-Aust has a new book out, "The Well-Designed Mixed Garden." Other books for gifts are Lon Rombough's "The Grape Grower," Rose Marie Nichols McGee and Maggie Stuckey's "The Bountiful Container," Thomas Ogren's "Safe Sex in the Garden," to name a few excellent ones. There are also some new inexpensive "rooter pots" from Lee Valley for air layering that would be welcome for the slightly advanced gardener. Margaret Lauterbach
It's getting to be that time of year to do the Christmas gifts for gardeners article. Any suggestions from you hard-core plant nuts and garden product manufacturers? I'm willing to plug products shamelessly if they give gardeners value. Gifts can be from stocking stuffers to the extravagant. Hey, we all know that some gardeners have rich spouses who indulge them!
