Re: Reliable lawn-care stats?

If you live in/near a well-to-do suburban area where everyone uses
one of the Chemical Lawn companies, you would "buy it." (that lawns
are dosed more heavily than farm fields. My farmer neighbor only
fertilizes in spring...down the road in suburbia, the green trucks
are spraying 4 and 5 times per season! Subdivisions and their HOAs
are notorious for pressuring homeowners to do the full lawn treatment.
Try the EPA website for good info.
I usually Google "epa lawn stats" or "epa lawn chemicals" etc. and
get some good info from the EPA site.
The one on EPA is from the WILD ONEs and is sadly outdated (1993)
http://www.epa.gov/greenacres/wildones/handbk/wo8.html

Out side of the EPA here' a fact sheet on lawnmowers....

And another on Pesticide and home/lawn

Safer Pest Control is also a great site:

as is the Safe Lawn Project
