RE: Paragraph Marks

Thanks David, but the problem is not "seeing" the symbols, the problem is
that there embedded charriage returns at the end of every line whether you
can see them or not. I need to get rid of the embedded carriage returns at
the end of each line but at the same retain the carriage return at the end
of the paragraph.

First of all, are handy because all of Word's formatting is based on a
paragraph - they help me determine where the formatting changes when I need
to work with
several styles at once.

To turn them off go to the Tools menu, Options and in the middle of the box
on the left you'll see "Non-printing Characters", make sure all boxes are
unchecked
and they should just dissappear.  Do the Ok click thingie and dance the rest
of the day away!
