GWL: Join the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and get the montly magazine "The Garden," simply one of the best around plus you get the seed exchange, too. Also "Garden Design Journal." Makes no difference that it's from England, in fact the writing has less mistakes as they still use copyeditors there and do not leave all the work to the writer. HPL

I tried to renew my subscription to the Gardener on Saturday.  Gave up and called when I couldn't get the website to take my renewal.  That's when the "customer service rep" told me they were unable to make any profit and decided on March 5 to drop it -- right after sending out a bunch of renewal notices.
 
Too bad.  In my humble opinion, Garden Gate is the only magazine left that's really worth investing in.  I strongly dislike these popular magazines with more pages of ads than garden articles.  Fine Gardening is too high brow in their design ideas for the reality of where I live -- a townehouse with very limited garden space that must be "approved by management" BEFORE putting in a garden.
 
I strongly wish I could find a good shade garden magazine and a general publication completely dedicated to gardening with shrubs.  DOES ANYONE KNOW IF ONE OF THESE MAGAZINES ACTUALLY EXISTS AND I JUST HAVEN"T FOUND IT?
