I don't even like pictures on the screen, Power Point or slide shows. If
people want to see pretty pictures, they can get them at the check out of
any supermarket. If they want to hear a speaker, he should be entertaining
and informative enough to hold them with the talk.
Last weekend I did a day-long "Garden Day" with a nationally known TV
personality and presenters from Penn State and Cornell. Every one of them
had stuff projected up on a screen. I walked in with a five gallon pail and
a couple of used nursery pots, all empty. Visual aids.A couple of days ago I
got a check much more generous that we had discussed with a note that after
reading the comments they thought I should get as much as the national
keynote speaker along with an invitation to come back next year. You don't
need pictures.
