Re: Stylebook committee
Why compile a new one? Just pick one and recommend writers follow
that one.

While I generally agree with you that there already are too many stylebooks,
I can understand why one would be needed for gardenwriters. None of the
others address the specific technical needs of our industry.
For instance, do you write: Allium cepa var. aggregatum; Allium cepa
(aggregatum); or Allium cepa aggregatum? I've seen all three at various
times. And do you italicize it or not?
So a garden writers stylebook could be useful. This presupposes, however,
that our markets adopt it (problematical), and that we, as writers, use it
(unlikely overall).
Whether GWA is the one to create such a stylebook is an open question. I
refrain from comment.
