RE: Startling statistic

The 2% statistic on pesticides doesn't startle me. Most organic gardeners have healthy soil composition and diversity in the organisms in it, both good and bad hence healthy plants that fight off pathogens. Organic gardeners also don't go out looking for a pesticide (organic or not) once a few aphids or whatever show up. I spray off any aphids with a water spray. So the 2% may be true in garden center sales but I don't think it is a barometer of the number of organic gardeners out there. Organic gardening is a whole different way to garden, going against the grain of what to do when some bugs show up.
