Re: GWA AWards

And while I found the process quite intense and compressed, I was extremely--deeply--impressed by the judges, their >quality, care, knowledge, and commitment to do a good job.

I don't doubt that for a minute, Pat, and I hope my comment wasn't taken to suggest that. Not being a member, I haven't entered my book -- which (ahem!) is titled Best of Green Space: 30 years of Composted Columns, contact me or Betty Mackey for a review copy -- where was I ...?

Oh yes, I haven't entered my book, but I would like to think that it couldn't be very well evaluated in ten or fifteen minutes that judges might be able to allow it if they are looking at fifty to a hundred books in two days. It seems that books with lots of pretty pictures and elaborate layout would have an edge.

Hint to authors entering books that deal in words: Crimp the corners of the good parts, just like Peyton Place.
