Hi, Bill:
ZeroTol is some nasty stuff at 6% and over concentrations. Expensive by
itself plus there's a hazards shipping charge. The MSDS (Material Safety
Data Sheet) says that ZeroTol contains Peroxyacetic acid and, surprisingly,
Hydrogen Dioxide(?).
Peroxyacetic acid is used commercially in pharmaceutical water systems to
'eat' biofilms. These are bacterial/algae build ups that are almost
impossible to get rid of.
ZeroTol is used at 6-10% level and is a bactericidal/fungicidal/viricidal.
It will oxidize spores. That's a very general statement. I would call the
company and ask if they have positive kill results of the DL rust spores.
The hydrogen peroxide @ 3% would do what you expect it to do. It's the
combination of the peroxyacetic acid with the H2O2 at the higher oxidizer
level that will potentially kill the spores.
Hope this helps...Hostally,
Rich
