Howdy,
Orchids sometimes do similar but they produce roots as well. They are
called Keikis. I have had daylilies do the same from time to time. I have
tried cutting them but have been unsuccessful. I would suggest that it may
be worthwhile trying to peg them down so that they are still attached to
the flower stalk, but the base of the new "plantlet" is in contact with the
ground. Maybe this will allow them to root??
Just a suggestion. Maybe someone with more knowledge of daylilies can
confirm or refute this. I'll be trying it next time one of mine does the
same thing.
Cheers.
