Hi:
I'm your list owner! Saw the note about needing plants for a hot dry
western exposed garden. Sunflowers would work well here. Another plant
that can take this are Cone flowers-including the Black eye susan varieties
and echinacea species. Russian sage likes this as well. In a few weeks,
I'll be starting a series on Plants for Impossible Gardens: Hot, Dry, Clay
Soil. Stay tuned to my weekly column at the SUITE!--Will start in early
March. A series on gardening with a shady, north exposure comes first.
I want to ask a favor of the list members. I am working hard to get more
advertisement for this list via my Enabled Gardener personal website and
weekly column. One step I've taken is to register with a website called
wetwired (don't really know what this is supposed to mean, but....). They
give an opportunity for people to vote for favorite sites. I've put their
voting box towards the end of the webpage (1st url below name). If you
don't feel upset that I am actually coming out and ASKING you to vote,
please go to the site and cast your vote. I can't get listed on their
website as a link until I have gathered 100 votes. If you get an error
message, that means they haven't registeredf me yet--come back and try again
in a couple of days.
Normally I don't go seeking this type of award or vote, but I am eager to
have this site on as many listings as possible to help bring in more members
to the email list and readers in general. I figure the more that access my
site, the more tips will appear there (you do know about the tip page don't
you?) and the better conversations we can have on this email group.
Since Dr. Z didn't shut it down when I asked him to, let's do all we can as
a group to build it up! If you know of a place to "advertise", please feel
free to do so.
Also, how many of you have homepages? I thought we might start a webring
called The Enabled Hobbyist where we share ways to continue variious hobbies
(represented on this list) even when disabilities develop. Is there any
interest? Would there be a volunteer to create some kind of small picture
(gif or jpg format)that could be used as our logo?
