Hi, I grow a great many succulents here in Southern California. Black spots on aloes and other succulents are often a result of too much sun. If your plants are in a very hot window you should provide a little shade especially in western or southern exposures. Its a common misconception that succulents need to be grown in blazing sun. Many of them adapt quite readily to bright light and cool temperatures. Hope this helps. Bob
