I love this plant! Even when it's not in bloom it's very pretty. And
those delicate purple blossoms that dangle on those long stems
are so beautiful. I got mine about 2 months ago covered with blooms,
and it's already reblooming.

The smell of heliotropes is my all-time favorite scent. A lot of books
and magazines say it smells like cherry pie but I think it smells like
vanilla. I have three purple ones in containers outside my front door
and I'm tempted to go out and get the strongly scented white ones
the garden center just got. I tried to overwinter them last year in my
apartment but I didn't have a cool room, and the warm dry air killed
it (and let it get infested with spider mites). Until I get a house with
a cool greenhouse or garage I'm just going to treat them like annuals.
