I've just broken up my plant pile and found that mice had done a number on many of my
plants - apparently potting soil is good for tunnels. I know it was mice because I
saw them. Some of my hybrid teas are dead - not surprising since some pots were
emptied of almost everything but roots. Perhaps you've been visited by their
relatives? Next year, I'll be lacing the pile with mouse bait.
