New To List

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the list today.  I'm really thrilled there is a rose list!

I live in zone 5 (NH).  I grow HT's....with some difficulty :-)))  I also
grow miniature roses.  I have several climbing roses (new this year), a
couple of Reine des Violettes, 1 Reine Victoria, a 'Heritage' old rose, 1
'Baby Blanket' and 7 or 8 fairy roses.

My favorite rose is the hybrid tea 'Sweet Surrender'.  It is a medium pink
and very, very fragrant.  I also really like 'Sterling Silver' and
'Lagerfeld'  (both are lavender).  Heaven is another favorite.

This year hasn't been the best for my roses.  The spring was very cold and
rainy.  Summer has been very hot and dry.  I've had leafhopper and leaf miner
problems.  Right now I am having the usual Japanese Beetle problem.

I would be interested in hearing how people in zone 5 protect their HT's in
the winter.
