I'm a goin to get me a rose bush out of this here
deal. Same old bush I been fiddling with and asking
questions about.
I finally went out and got down on my hands an knees
and brushed away the summers cobwebs and trash and dug
down a little and put the water to it and got real
serious about it. I find that one new branch, this
year probaby, is growing out of the crown very low
down and lays right on the soil before branching into
3-4 small vertical branches 2-3 feet tall. There are
also some very little, 2 inches long, (I guess
anything 2 inches long is very little)shoots growing
around where this branch comes out of the crown.
So here I am with my CD on high playing Irish Eyes Are
Smiling and asking your advice. I intend on taking the
small cuttings also but would the chances of success
be very great on chopping out the crown and roots
below this new branch and putting the whole thing in a
bucket of media? I have to leave the main plant or
catch hell for evermore for reasons quite out of my
control.
Now, if I do that, does it have to be tented in for
humidity purposes? Do I feed it anything special like
some rose food? Can it remain outdoors? I don't want
to shock it or surprise it or chase it into a dead
faint because the thing hasn't recieved the least care
until now when I realize it may be lost.
Is it true that roses were invented just for the
Irish?
Thanks, you are a great bunch, And yes, I know, ya
gotta take the thorns with the roses. ;}
Jim
