Dear Pete,
Your flowering Sans. elliptica 'Horwood' is quite impressive. Whenever I
have something in bloom I am always tempted to cross it with some other
species if it too is in bloom. I believe a cross between a maculate species
in the Sans.hyacinthoides group and a banded one in the Sans.trifasciata
group could produce something special because they have markings in
different patterns.
I believe you are correct. Sans.rorida from eastern Somalia, typically with
glaucous blue-green leaves, is the dwarf species of the Sans.ehrenbergii
group. It is often confused with Sans.robusta from Kenya but that is the
most massive of the Sansevierias. Sans.powellii, also from Kenya, is
intermediate in appearance between Sans.robusta and Sans.arborescens.
There is an English translation of the original description of Sans.rorida
in The Sansevieria Journal 5 (1): 11-17, with 3 figures.

The infloresence is really incredible.
Please check out the plant I have labled as S. rorida. Does this one look
correct?
