This is NOT to denigrate the considerable contribution Ed Eby made to our
collections. But Manny Singer and Dave Grigsby were obtaining Sansevierias
for over a decade to MY knowledge...and it may go back before them, from a
wide variety of sources. To name one source would be to leave out 10...so I
will not go into that here. Abbey gardens may have even preceded Manny,
for all I know, in selling Sansevierias, but in 1975 when i visited Manny,
he already had a fantastic collection of plants, and not long after, I saw
the collections in Abby Gardens and the plants of Dave Grigsby. this was
before Ed and Koko Crater. and it doesn't touch on the sports and
variegates which originated in the USA and in European nurseries.

Dave and Manny were the recipients of odd variegates from their own
customers, also.
