Re: Patty Pans?

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Patty pan is the name I grew up with for scalloped squash. I believe it may
be the name of a variety. My great aunt had patty pan and yellow crookneck
squash in her garden. She also had snap beans and I remember sitting in the
glider snapping beans and talking for long periods when the harvest was in
and it was time to put food up. Her potatoes were kept under the house
after they were harvested. Us kids loved going under there to pick out
potatoes for supper, digging for new potatoes was even more fun. The corn
for a meal was not picked until after the water the was boiling. Than she
would send uncle bill and us kids out to pick the corn and shuck it.
Nothing tastes better than corn that fresh. :)
