Help! I have just discovered a furry, fat, little (1 inch long), orange
and black caterpillar looking thing on my cucumber leave. I only found
one and there doesn't seem to be any damage to the plant, as of yet.
Does anyone know what it is and if it is a good or bad kind of crawler?
There is tomatoes on one side and beans on the other, if that makes any
difference.
I am also in need of advise for something else. I am growing misc.
varieties of peppers and suddenly the bottom leaves started turning
yellow. I had heard to add iron w/chelate to the soil. I found this in
granular form and it says on the container that it is "used to correct
Chlorosis (yellowing foliage) caused by deficiency of Iron, Zinc,
Magnesium and Sulfur". All of these things are included in this
product. I added this exactly as instructed 1 1/2 teaspoon per plant,
mixed in soil and watered. Now 2 of the plants have lost 80% of their
leaves (even ones that weren't yellow before application). What can I
do to save these plants? I love peppers and don't want to lose them.
One other question. I have picked the first ripe romas off my plants,
and the ends appear to be rotted. What causes this? I try and water
them 2 cups every other day, they each have their own square, and are
trellised up strings. There are several tomatoes (5-6) on each vine.
Any help with any of these problems would be quite appreciated.
