Joe -- what a funny, delightful post! 

I had to laugh, recognizing myself in some of what you said. I've never been
much of a tomato eater myself, but find myself in mourning that our tomatoes
are winding down in this dreadful drought. I can now understand why tomatoes
are the most grown vegetable in America. 

John Denver had a song on one of his albums, "Homegrown Tomatoes."  Anyone
familiar with it? It's a silly little ditty, but I can sure identify with it
now! There's nothing in the world like a fresh, juicy, homegrown tomato!

So true! I myself can't wait to try some veggies I've never much cared for.
