Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
My school got 8 round, black, plastic compost bins at $9.95 each on an
Agriculture in the Classroom grant last fall. Parks seed catalog came out
with the "New, exclusive" on the same apparatus (only green)for $17.95, to
grow potatoes. Got to try it! But, I am wondering: 1. how full of mulch
or dirt, or compost stuff should it be when you put the potatoes in? 2.
can you keep adding dirt or mulch and expect the potato plants to survive
and/or spread during the growing season? and 3. How do you know when the
potatoes are ready? Peek? Or, should we just grow them in our raised beds?
Has anybody used the sweet potatoe plants from Parks? $9.95 for 25 of them.
I want to try sweet potatoes this way because we are in Alabama and I think
they grow pretty good here. Any suggestions?
