Mary,

I would *NOT* recommend growing raspberries sqft style. Raspberries
propagate underground and spread out to fill any and all available
space. This is good, because you only need to plant a few plants at
first and pretty soon you've got lots of plants and LOTS of yummy
raspberries...but I'm afraid any attempts to confine the plants into
square feet will meet with frustration...especially because the plants
themselves are long, thorny, and lanky.
