There  is a product called (Ithink) Stabil which you can add to your
gasoline to keep it fresh and avoid gumming up your carburetor. 

I suggest that you don't let old gas hang around .. use it up in your
car before it goes bad and buy fresh gas when you want to use the
shredder.
