Corn, beans and squash: Here's a pic of my new bed

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Here's a link to a picture of the Three Sisters Garden bed I made behind
my garage. There are nine mounds, each being about two feet high and
about three feet across.

I have sown them with assorted types of corn, I sowed about a half dozen
corn seeds in each mound: Golden Bantam, Mini Decorative, and another I
can't recall. The squashes are all sorts of types, I have bushel
gourds, birdhouse gourds, some ornamental mix, Rouge De Vif
(sp?)pumpkin. some cukes, and maybe some luffas. I put in three gourd
seeds per mound. The beans are a few scarlet runners, some purple podded
pole beans, something called "tri color bean" (I have no idea what this
is, they came as a bonus in a seed trade).

As of yet I just see the beginnings of corn coming up, a few cukes have
germinated and just one squash has come up. I have been having a very
hard time with slugs this year and I probably will have to sow the
squashes again.

I hope that you will all like it. Of course it's very non square foot.
It is a half moon shape and has some sort of weird large structure I
made for the vertical growers with sawed off tree limbs.

I hope you all like it.

Trudi

PS.........on the same forum are eight pics of the perennial bed I made
from my "winter sown" seedlings.
