Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I would love to help but there are just to many variables to say Mel is
right for your particular area. For instance, a hundred yards or less to
the East of my garden is a field that is practically flooded. They haven't
even plowed for corn planting yet it is that wet. Yet in my garden close to
the old railroad line my plants would not survive without a daily drink
which would be excessive in most of Mel's recommendations. You might have a
clay soil which would hold water whereas I have a very ashen or sandy soil.
About the best suggestion would be a frequent check as follows. Take a fist
full of soil and squeeze. It should hold a shape well but break apart
easily when pushed with a finger. That and all the compost you can give it.
