Re: Broccoli

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

I'm having a decent spring crop of broccoli, I planted them one per square
some interplanted with green onions and lettuce. I grew three types, Small
Miracle, Munchkin and Rosalind Purple. The first two are smaller varieties,
the Rosalind seems to stay small too, but that may be due to the spacing.
The lettuces grew well and are mostly eaten now,
the green onions aren't doing so well, but there may be other reasons for
that.

The Munchkin has produced the best for me so far this year but I haven't had
a
chance to see how it compares with Small Miracle for side shoot production.
Small Miracle kept two of us (broccoli lovers) supplied with enough side
shoots from eight plants last fall. The Rosalind has not yet produced well
for
me for the second year, I just discovered aphids on the best looking plants
today
while the green types have no aphids at all.
