Re: Oregano has no odor.


Many plants are sold as Oreganos. Unfortunately most of them are not the
strong flavored Oreganos used for cooking. You need to look at the latin
name and get Origanum vulgare, for a mildly sweet Oregano flavor, or even
better yet look for Ocimum vulgare hirtum or true Greek Oregano for a great
aromatic flavor. Also lightly, very lightly fertilize Oregano with a little
compost in the beginning of the season and then leave it alone. To find
seeds check Richters or Territorial Seed Company.
