Re: Oregano has no odor.

Yes I know of what you speak.  I have a couple "oregano" plants in my herb
garden.  One is the pink/purple flowered Common Marjoram, /Origanum vulgare,/
AKA "Common Oregano."  This is probably what you have.  It is relatively
tasteless and odorless (although pretty in bloom) compared to the real stuff,
the white flowered Greek Oregano, /O. vulgare hirtum,/ which origonates from the
mountains of Greece.  Now, /that's/ flavourful.  There is at least one other
strong flavoured species called Cretan Oregano, /O. onites,/ AKA "Pot Marjoram."
All these oreganos and more are available as plants from Richters.  They also
sell seeds of Greek Oregano, which are easy to start.
