Hi, Doreen. Would this be tomato 'Schimmeig Striped Hollow,' an heirloom
from Germany? I grew them in 1994 from free seads via the American
Horticultural Society. A little disappointing as I had planned in my mind's
eye for them to produce big stuffers for tuna salad et al. The actual
results were *fairly* hollow but only about the size of a balled-up fist at
their largest.
Flavor was OK, though, and for a nonhybrid, the plants performed extra well
in the diseases category.
