Potatoes

I have been lurking on this list for the past month. I love it! So
much valuable information from experienced gardeners. Wow! I am
relatively new to gardening and brand spanking new to sqft gardening.
My dh would like me to plant potatoes this year, specifically red (or
new) potatoes. Someone he works with says this is a very easy crop to
grow. Has anyone done this in a sqft plot? What about the spacing? any
suggestions? I tested my soil and it is ideal for growing veggies.
Didn't need to add any nutrients! How lucky could I get? thanks in
advance.
