I'm growing canteloupe for the first time, and I'm trying it vertically. I'm just trying to have them grow up into a square tomato cage, in a "tomato automator" contraption. My variety is Jenny Lind, which is supposed to have a number of smallish melons rather than a few large ones. So I was going to just let them grow as they pleased. I'd be willing to prune one, though, and compare notes with you over the season. Please keep us posted on how yours do.
