Re: new bloom


Pearl,
Iris can hybridize by themselves. This is really interesting. Almost all of the ones that bees drop around here are super ugly. The rest closely resemble the parents wich are usually older varieties and just make a larger clump.
 
I think yours is cute.

I have a new bloom this morning and hope someone might help with it's identity. It is in a bed that has been planted for about ten years. This is the first time I remember seeing this one. Can iris hybridize on their own? It is between a group of yellow on one side and purple/wine irises on the other side.
