Thanks Will and Inanda,

I'll try digging a red species Ensata and moving it inside the greenhouse. I 
have a similar colored red Versicolor that blooms two weeks earlier than the 
Ensata I'd like try crossing with it.

Trees are leafing out 2 weeks earlier than average, here. Iris fans are just 
starting to grow.

This can be done quite easily with Japanese Iris...Be sure to use at least a 
2 or 3 gallon pot.
