Thanks for all the replies -- i've only noticed borers affecting my
bearded irises.  i'll have to pay closer attention to the rest of my
collection.   and i'm wondering now if this is why my tectorum alba
patch is so small right now?  maybe it got hit last year.

Has anyone noticed Iris foetidissima being susceptible to borers???   i
lost all of my foets too.
