Re: Iris confusa or wattii?

I have 3 seedlings from Probst seeds of I. wattii contributed in 2006. They were all in a 20 gal container, but one started into strong growth recently so I moved the other two into their own 5 gal. containers. The two are sitting at 2 inches high and not doing much yet this year.

Speaking of Probst seeds, I had a couple of I. confusa bloom from seeds he contributed in 2004. They don't have much in the way of branching. I'm attaching a photo of the first one. It is very small and should be around life-size on  many computer screens. The scale is in cm, if you want to check. The second plant has had just one bloom a few days ago and I didn't get a picture. A second one should open sometime.

I've taken a closer look at my purported wattii. It is only this
year's new canes that have leafy bracts all up the cane. The older
canes don't - they just have marks where the bracts were. So I guess
that is not diagnostic after all, and I will have to hope for flowers
next year to settle the i.d.

The Probst seed I grew was from SIGNA.
