Re: Re: SPEC-X

Well that's the key word right there.  "Awarded".  Dolce is viewed differently by award-minded & non-award-minded people.

You asked why does it matter to us?  Well that's easy.  AIS is big a society devoted to promoting all irises (in theory).  It's dominated by TB enthusiasts.  SPEC and SPEC-X enthusiasts are a minority.  So having this TB being touted as a SPEC-X is a little bit upsetting because it's taking attention away from other SPEC-X that I care about.

I feel it's disrespectful to the likes of Little Caillet and Ally Oops to be competing for attention against TBs which aren't "TB" enough for TB-lovers.  It makes me angry!  I pay good money for my membership in AIS.  Yet it promotes TBs at the expense of other irises that I'm actually interested in, so perhaps my money would be better spent elsewhere.

I have to agree with Robert's comments here.  The SIGNA membership should be cheering that a hybrid in the SPEC=X class was awarded.
