This is kinda common for me. Some cultivars seem to be
more prone than others - CAPRICIOUS always got this. I
think plant matter touching the leaves increases the
chances - I am trying not putting alfalfa on this spring to
see if the effect is less this year - some alfalfa gets
into the base of the leaves. High humidity, especially with
heat, increases the odds. This is our usual spring weather.
I wander through the garden almost daily from now on,
looking for signs of damage like this. If the rotted outer
leaves are removed right away, it may stop there. If left
on, the whole fan may rot through at the base of the
leaves. I don't put anything on to treat this. I do spray
for leaf spot, which seems to have no effect on this rot.
