Sandra;  I have to join with Kitty on this one.  In watching the last few
years we have pick up the same scenaio you describe, what we have done is
remove the debrie and make sure the iris has room to breath, it seems once
warm air and circulation is evident the problem goes away.  You will have to
trim some damage away and I think a Comet dusting would aid in drying the
infected area, thus helping the plant. I do believe if it is ignored it has
a drastic effect on the plant.  Bill
