OT: Melb Flower Show

I visited the show last Thursday, and it was certainly as good, or better
than I expected.
I don't go for the flower exhibitions, so a brief look, and a bit of a
giggle, and we headed out to see what was on offer.
They put more emphasis on plants this year, than the last couple of years.
Too many 'concrete' gardens when I was there in '99.
Tempo Two had less on offer than last time (from what I remember, or maybe
there was just less to interest me), and I managed 1 TB (Thriller) 2
Siberians, (Ann Dasch, and something else) and I. unguicularis 'Mary
Barnard'.
2 bags of Dutch irises, and some more unusual bulbs, and some interesting
and unusual little foliage plants for growing in terracotta pots on the
verandah.
I was most taken with the hoyas, and ended up buying 3, and wishing I had
bought more. Ah well - there is always next year. I think I will take more
money with me next year, and perhaps one of those trolleys Colleen mentioned
:-)
Cheers, Jan in Aus.
