MED: Golden Child

Hi Talkers,
My first SDBs are blooming now and I have a good clump
of Golden Child blooming. Quite a number of stalks are
showing. It's a nice bright yellow but I noticed every
single stalk has only one bud. Is this for real? I am
very disappointed in its bud count. Has anyone else
grown this variety and noticed this?
