HYB: survivor

I know this won't mean much to most of you, but I am so excited to see a stalk forming on the unprotected pink seedling from PINK FORMAL X CELEBRATION SONG. This seedling has everything I wanted in a pink except width and rebloom - height, late freeze tolerance, branching, bud count, bloom size, ruffles. Probably wouldn't hurt to have more substance, but it's as good as most that will grow well here. Got a bunch of babies this winter from it X OCTOBER SPLENDOR. Can hardly wait!

This is its second year to bloom, so too soon to tell whether it can sit in one place and continue to produce a lot of stalks for several years, plus the foliage is summer crud prone (needs a dose of those IMMORTALITY genes!), so it's far from perfect, but I'm delighted to see that at least it can take the freezes!
